Ulugbek Suyumov, BBA 1997 EU was the best option since it offered the degree I was seeking in English. Little did I know about all the other advantages of EU, like class size; our class was only 15 students, meaning professors could allocate more time per student. Another advantage is the fact that most professors were simultaneously full-time employees in leading institutions, which meant that we had excellent links between the academic and the real business worlds. Finally, the case study approach and the composition of the curricula matched exactly the skills that were required of me upon graduation. One of the things I mention with some trainees is that what they learn in university has little application to the real job market in some areas. EU prepared me to adapt faster to each position I have held to date. Thank you EU! EU ATHENS PROFESSOR PLOMARITOU PUBLISHES BOOK ON SHIPPING MARKETING Dr. Evi Plomaritou, Senior Lecturer at EU Athens, has published the book “Marketing of Shipping Companies” and co-authored another book “Shipping Organizations Framework for internal Assessment”. Dr. Plomaritou’s book is used as the main textbook at EU Athens in its course in Shipping Management and covers the strategies and tactics that shipping companies (including liners and tankers) use in their marketing processes while analyzing policies and philosophies that have shaped the industry for years. Dr. Plomaritou also actively works as a consultant with the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, which provides training services to shipping companies.

We offer job and internship counseling services to our students who can receive highly-personalized attention from one of our highly-qualified career advisors at a convenient time for the student. At these meetings the student has the opportunity to obtain up-to-date information on recent job and internship openings, review his/her CV, receive useful tips on job interviews and even get some help with translation. In addition, our students continue with the industrial visits to major international and multinational companies as a part of EU’s regular academic curriculum. These visits allow EU students to receive practical insight on how large corporations work and meet key decision makers in person.
